來自紐約皇后區的Consequence是A Tribe Called Quest團員Q-Tip的小表弟，從小就愛跟著A Tribe Called Quest，培養了自己對Hip-Hop濃厚的興趣，並把Rakim視作自己的偶像。1993年，Consequence就利用自己表哥的關係在ATCQ的專輯《Midnight Marauders》中的歌曲“The Chase, Part II”中獻聲，從此走向了饒舌歌手的道路。1998年ATCQ解散後，Consequence只好自謀出路。他與 Elektra Records簽訂了一份契約，錄製了一張原本訂在2000年發行的專輯。但之後唱片公司與Consequence的終止合作，使這張專輯最終流產。2004年，Consequence發行了一張MIXTAPE《Take Em To The Cleaners》，得到了Kanye West的青睞。Kanye邀請他在其處女專輯《The College Dropout》中獻聲，兩人建立了良好的關係。2007年，Consequence終於發行了自己的第一張專輯《Dont Quit Your Day Job!》，並得到了Kanye的大力支持。雖然專輯的銷售量不甚理想，但仍獲得了圈內人的好評。如今，Consequence正在準備自己的第二張專輯《You Win Some, You Lose Some》。具透露，該專輯仍然由Kanye West和Q-Tip製作，並由G.O.O.D Music /Universal Motown發行。Consequence
