對blues稍有了解的人都知道buddy guy 這個名字的份量,他是芝加哥blues的代表人物，曾經影響了Jimi Hendrix,Eric Clapton,Stevie Ray Vaughan 等人,甚至影響到搖滾樂發展的先驅；即使你對blues一竅不通，當buddy彈響第一個音符時，你一樣會為他瘋狂。 對許多人來說，Guy是在B.B.King後的下一位布魯斯之王。他的吉他風格在King的詩一般的揉弦、推弦基礎上，又增加了後現代布魯斯的狂熱。Hendrix和Jeff Beck都承認他們在音樂上深深地受到了Guy的影響，Clapton也稱Guy是最偉大的布魯斯演奏者。事實上，在當今的樂手中，很少有人能演奏出象Guy所演奏的飽含情感的吉他solo。
